A new term of Irish language classes for schoolchildren.

Suitable for primary school children, this monthly Saturday class is suitable for complete beginners.

Na Ranganna

The Cultúr Club is a play-based fun introduction to the Irish language with a maximum of ten children. It is held in the new London Irish Library - https://www.londonirishcentre.org/news/library - and the club is ideal for children who are quite new to the Irish language but have a keen interest in learning it. We use resources specially designed by Conradh na Gaeilge 'Cultúr Club' programme for children learning Irish in the diaspora:  https://www.cnag.ie/en/the-cult%C3%BAr-club.html />
Class 1 - Saturday 28th September 1-2pm

Class 2 - Saturday 26th October 1-2pm

Class 3 -  Saturday 30th November 1-2pm

An Múinteoir

Cultúr Club is taught by Gráinne Ní Bhrosnacháin who is a native Irish speaker from the Gaeltacht of Corca Dhuibhne in County Kerry. She has a lot of experience with children of different ages and  currently works at a London nursery with babies and young children. She has previous experience teaching English in Asia and is currently very involved in the Irish Community in London and plays football and camogie with the Father Murphy's Ladies team. You can hear more about her and her travels in this Radio na Gaeltachta interview:

Gráinne is assisted by Gwyneth Nic Aidicín Ní Loinsigh who is a fluent Irish speaker and Gaelcholáiste graduate from County Tipperary and is currently studying costume design in London.

Fan Linn

The classes will take place at the same time as the monthly Grúpa Spraoi Londan play group (1-3pm) for pre-school children in the adjoining Kennedy Hall of the London Irish Centre -
https://www.londonirishcentre.org/pages/events/category/community />
so parents with other younger children can join in the grúpa spraoi activities while the older ones are at the Cultúr Club next door.

Otherwise, parents are welcome to sit and enjoy a tea or a coffee in the Kennedy Hall. However, we do ask that at least one parent remain on site.

An Costas

The term of three classes costs £25 per child, but contact us if you would like to enquire about a more affordable option or if you have any other questions about the club or whether it would be suitable for your child.

And please join us for our fundrasier quiz on the 11th of September in Hackney. All the info on that is here:
