 Dear Parent/Carer,

I would like to invite your child to come and join our new Satellite Music School in partnership with Willow Brook Primary and the Griffin Schools Trust. This will take place on Thursdays at Willow Brook PrimarySchool from 4.00-6.00pm starting from 26th September.

This new satellite centre is for young people who attend primary schools in the south of the Borough, as an accessible way to join a group where they will have the opportunity to experience the fun of making music with others, as soon as they start learning an instrument. As well as instrumental music groups to play in, there will be choir rehearsals and a fun ‘Music Club’ they can join to develop a broader range of musical skills to support their progress.

For only £31 per term (£15.50 for families on low income), students will experience two hours of music and fun. Pupils arrive at 4pm for free refreshments, and then move between the music groups which are tiered for age group and ability. There will be a break in the middle to allow space for making new friends and socialising, and the Music School will finish at 6pm.

If your child has learnt an instrument at school through the Whole Class Ensemble Tuition (WCET) programme, and would like to continue their learning, they would be placed into a group with students from other schools who have the same experience. We can support this transition and loan an instrument if required so please get in touch if interested in taking up this opportunity. Similarly, if your child has individual lessons or lessons in small groups on their instrument, they would be playing in a group with other students of a similar standard. Groups would perform at the end of each term for families and friends to hear their progress.

Pupils attending the two hour Music School will take part in a range of musical activities including:

- Beginner Mixed Ensember- Strings Group- Wind/Brass Group- Choir- Music Club with general music skills.
