Goldsmiths Confucius Institute will be offering a series of Saturday classes to adults and children of all ages in order to offer a taste of Chinese culture. Weekend courses include YCT Mandarin classes as well as martial arts and Chinese dance classes for both adults and children.  All courses run for 5 weeks.

Students who enroll in two or more courses are eligible to receive a 15% discount

Entry Level

If you have studied Chinese before and are not a continuing student, you must be assessed to confirm your level prior to enrollment. Assessment is a free informal session with one of our Mandarin teachers.

Course Content and Timing

Saturday 12:20pm – 13.20pm

 YCT Mandarin Class - £60

 The content of the course is according to the new primary and middle school students' Chinese test (YCT) teaching material. This course will offer students study of Chinese systematically. It can also help students to study towards YCT and HSK certificates.

Saturday 1:30pm – 2.30pm

YCT Mandarin Class - £60

 The content of the course is according to the new primary and middle school students' Chinese test (YCT) teaching material. This course will offer students study of Chinese systematically. It can also help students to study towards YCT and HSK certificates.

Saturday 1:30pm – 2.30pm

Children Dance Class - £30

 Students will be taught in line with Beijing Dance Academy children's dance grading test materials. This course also combines dance with Chinese song and Chinese traditional etiquette education to give children a fun and well-rounded experienceof the difference between cultures.

Saturday 2.45pm – 3.45pm

Children Martial Arts - £30

 The content of this course includes the basic skills of Chinese martial art and Chang quan. This class will enhance students’ physical and mental health.

Saturday 4.00pm – 5.00pm

Adult Dance Class - £45

Dance can be a fun and enjoyable way to help to improve participants overall physical health. The course will integrate Chinese and Western dance elements such as Chinese classical dance, Chinese folk dance, ballet, Modern dance, etc.

Adult Martial Class (Tai Chi & Qigong) - £45

 Taijiquan is one of the most traditional Chinese martial arts. It can maintain spirit, build up a good physique and alleviate stress and tension.
