What is it?



UCL Arena is organising a full day writing retreat for all colleagues in the Faculty of Medical Sciences who want to apply and/or draft an application for Fellow or Senior HEA fellowship.

Who is it for?


Anyone who can provide evidence of broadly based effectiveness in more substantive teaching and supporting learning roles and can demonstrate a broad understanding of effective approaches to learning and teaching support as a key contribution to high quality student learning - Fellow category


Anyone who can show that their sustained leadership has had an impact on the development of teaching through departmental and wider teaching and learning support advisory responsibilities -Senior Fellowship category



What are the benefits of applying? 

The awards are respected both nationally and internationally. By gaining a UCL Arena Fellowship and the corresponding HEA Fellowship, you will be entitled to use the post-nominal letters FHEA or SFHEA.

HEA fellowship is a highly recognised qualification for all staff who teach or support students’ learning in higher education.

It is also recognised in the UCL promotion criteria.
