This is the 4th in a series of concerts where Unit31 collaborates with some of its favourite artists. We are incredibly lucky to have been able to intercept Ill Camille and Damani Nkosi on their European tour and, seeing as they don't normally reside in this part of the world, we reckon that this is one you don't want to miss. If, for some godforsaken reason, you are unfamiliar with what they do, check out their most recent video at Tiny Desk. Enough Said? See you Friday. night will go from 7:30 til 12pm, get down early so you can catch the dj and house set and have enough time to jam aswell.Rappers, singers, poets, performers, civilians all welcome.online: £10doors: £12---------------------------------------------------------------Damani Nkosi's solidified his place in music as not only an ever-evolving MC, but one that always seems to push the boundaries of contemporary hip-hop's sonic palate. This Inglewood,California born and bred artist's lyrical abilities have earned him praises from some of the most recognizable and respected figureheads in music such as Swizz Beats, Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre, and Big Daddy Kane to name a few. Touted as rap music's "renaissance man", Damani Nkosi's "Thoughtful King" album was celebrated as a masterful body of work, which was not only a testament to Nkosi's own genius as a recording artist, but also to his ear for enlisting the talents of other musical greats. With features from Robert Glasper, Kamasi Washington, Sid Sriram, Musiq Soulchild, BJ the Chicago Kid, Dontae Winslow and others, the Thoughtful King release was a uniquely crafted, highly influential project for the ages. Damani's contributions to the culture were recently revisited during his 2018 performance on NPR's Tiny Desk series alongside partner-in-rhyme ill Camille and he is now prepping for his 10th studio release with long time collaborator and Grammy award-winning producer Warryn Campbell. ill Camille is a native Los Angeles-based MC and writer who also represents the Inland Empire. Straying away from the hip-hop zeitgeist, her transparency, cleverly constructed rhyme style, rhythm, and choice of subject matter have earned her the love and respect from both underground and mainstream worlds alike. She's worked alongside DJ Battlecat, Damani Nkosi, Patrice Rushen, Snoop Dogg, Kendrick Lamar, Terrace Martin, Georgia Anne Muldrow, Gabriel Garzon-Montano, and Dr.Dre and other legendary music staples. Her 2017 full-length release "Heirloom" was named one of "the most important albums" that year year by NPR and performed on their "Tiny Desk" series in 2018.The two have recently paired up to release what will be their first full length, self-entitled album HARRIETT.Videos: -Damani Nkosi "On My Way to Inglewood" feat Kamasi Washington - Damani Nkosi "Now That's Love" feat Musiq Soulchild & Robert Glasper - ill Camille "Fight On" feat Damani Nkosi & Preston Harris - ill Camille & Damani Nkosi "HOME" prod by Georgia Anne Muldrow
