Course Overview

This course will:


introduce you to using your voice as a performer or public speaker

explore fundamental voice techniques including breath support and control through practical work 

delve into key areas such as articulation, rhythm and resonance to enrich vocal performance

build confidence and develop effective techniques to help conquer nerves

link your developing skills to practice on texts, enabling you to begin to free your voice and find a true connection to the words you speak


At the end of the course you will be invited to perform a poem and a piece (acting monologue/public speech) to apply your learning in context.

actors that want to explore the use of voice in performance

anyone that wants to embark on a journey of vocal development 

voice practitioners who want a solid base from which to specialise


Please note: due to the nature of voice work, the course contains a certain amount of floor work (especially in the first few weeks). We recommend bringing a yoga mat or towel to the sessions for your comfort. 


Course Detail

Times: Mondays & Wednesdays, 7.00pm - 9.30pm for 8 weeks. The course consists of 16 sessions in total. 

Age: Minimum age is 18 on the first day of the course. No upper age limit. 

Language requirements: Applicants must be confident speaking and reading English to a conversational level (IELTS score of 7.0 or equivalent). Please note, you will be expected to read texts/scripts that may have advanced vocabulary in them on this course. 

Maximum class size: 16 

Attendance: Due to the structure of the courses, and the colloborative nature of acting, full attendance is required.
