LEAP is offering training focused on working with perpetrators of domestic violence for the early years workforce in Lambeth.
This free one day training event is provided as part of the LEAP Safer Families Domestic Violence Project and is being delivereed by experts from Solace Women's Aid. By attending the course participants will be able to,
Better identify perpetrators of domestic violence
Make appropriate referrals to other agencies upon identification
Understand the dynamics of perpetrators use of violence
Better understand the risks posed by perpetrator to (ex) partners and children
Undertake initial motivational work with perpetrators to help explore their use of violence
Understand the differences between empathic and collusive working in a domestic violence context
We would also like to gather your views and experiences of working with domestic violence perpetrators.
This training is aimed at all professionals working in Lambeth who are likely to come into contact with domestic violence perpetrators and want to know more about how to respond appropriately. This could be anyone working in the early years and community settings, and is not limited to practitioners working exclusively with perpetrators.
